The Event That Took Place
The Panama-flagged, 2406 GRT Corona Z ship loaded with 3800 tons of scrap iron and steel sank at a depth of about 35 m off Kilyos in the Black Sea due to weather opposition. On August 3, 2005, an agreement was signed with Donatan on the condition of “No Cure, No Pay” aimed at removing the fuel and oil on the ship and the work started.

The Studies Carried Out
The operations were carried out under the supervision of Vitsan, the representative of the commission and the ship operator.
- The General Directorate of Coastal Safety and salvage our company and the business as a result of survey conducted by officials of not to spill fuel or oil, although it was found possible to minimize the risk of environmental pollution, oil booms, oil absorbent materials, plastic barrels a watercraft have been kept ready to collect them.
- The fuel, lubricating and hydraulic oils and bilge water in the wreck, which pose a risk in terms of environmental pollution, were completely removed on August 31.
- Usable oils have been delivered to customs.
- The wastes have been delivered to an authorized facility for disposal according to the current regulations.
- On September 8, the commission decided that the operations were completed in an appropriate manner.
In the studies carried out, our Pehlivan II tug was used.
