Founded in 2019 by Mustafa Alpaslan, Honorary Chairman of Aras Marine Investment Holding, the Alpaslan Autism Foundation and the Alpaslan Special Education and Rehabilitation Center operate in the Sapanca district of Sakarya, Türkiye.
The foundation aims to become a national and international model institution in the field of autism spectrum disorder by providing innovative, interdisciplinary, and science-based services for individuals affected by autism, their families, and other stakeholders.
Operating on a non-profit basis, the Alpaslan Autism Foundation offers developmental and educational assessments for individuals with autism, provides consultancy services for families, researchers, and practitioners, and conducts educational programs for school-age and adult individuals, as well as vocational training and follow-up services.
Within the foundation, evidence-based early intervention programs are implemented for preschool children with autism or those at risk of developmental delays. For school-age students who do not benefit from inclusive education or attend special education centers, the foundation offers a comprehensive educational model designed to improve functional academic skills, social interaction, communication, daily living, social, and motor skills.
For adults with autism, the Alpaslan Autism Foundation follows a holistic approach that focuses on developing independent living skills, maintaining physical activity habits, expanding skill repertoires through meaningful leisure activities, supporting vocational development through supported employment practices, and helping individuals become productive members of society.
To support and disseminate scientific studies in the field of autism, the Alpaslan Autism Foundation Publishing House was established in 2021. The publishing house not only publishes the foundation’s own scientific works but also supports academics in Türkiye and around the world who produce and wish to publish scientific research on autism.
In addition to educational activities, the Alpaslan Autism Foundation provides diverse indoor and outdoor facilities that offer individuals with autism opportunities for physical activity and recreation. Indoor areas include a multi-purpose hall and a fitness center, while outdoor areas feature a swimming pool, basketball, volleyball, and tennis courts, as well as walking, running, and cycling tracks.
